Name: Alana Rachelle Teale (Born Rocsen)
D.O.B. // Age: August 8, 1995 // 14
Schooling: Insula School of Magic, 5th year
Current Job: Student
Wand: 10”, Holly, Demiguise Hair – John Drell’s Wands
Pet: N/A
Appearance: Alana is taller than most girls, standing at five-foot-eight. Since at her age, most guys haven’t grown yet, she tends to feel a bit out of place, though she’d never show it. Her skin is a creamy white, which contrasts greatly with her hair and eyes. Alana’s hair, which she got from her biological father, is stark, raven black, which goes down to the middle of her back in waves. She usually keeps it up, but she looks very beautiful if she can be persuaded to keep it down. Her eyes, which are also from her father, are a bright, piercing blue, which stand out against her creamy skin and dark hair.
Her body has pleasant curves – with a nice, well-sized chest that is matched evenly with her hips. Overall, Alana is a very good-looking girl, though she is usually thought to be at least two or three years older than she really is, due to her height and figure. When not in uniform at Insula, she usually wears jeans and a blouse, and has only just recently begun to accept her… curvaceous body, and how it fills out what she wears. She likes the colors blue and red, though she’ll wear anything except green.
History: Alana Rachelle was born the second child of Allen and Marchelle Rocsen in a town not far from Los Angeles. They were a young couple, and happy in love. Less than a year before, her older brother had been born, Marcus Raphael. For a few years, the little family was very happy. Allen and Marchelle – both half bloods – were good parents to their small babies, and looked forward to seeing their two children grow up and attend Insula as they did. Things were not to be, though. The two left their children with a sitter one night and tragedy struck. They would have Apparated out of the car before the other car struck it accidentally, but they never saw it coming – too wrapped up in each other to notice.
With no living relatives known of, Marcus and Alana were given to an orphanage. Unfortunately, they were not adopted by the same people. Marcus was adopted by a self-hating, disgruntled old man; Alana was adopted by a fairly poor, but nice Muggle family. Trudy and Michael Teale had felt that they would never be able to have children of their own, for they had indeed been told that Michael was infertile. They decided that adopting was their only choice, and found the cutest little girl at the orphanage to adopt. They were not a rich family, but they gave Alana everything they possibly could growing up. At five, they enrolled her in drums lessons – Alana’s idea, of course, as she found the drums fascinating. She had a happy life, until she was eight years old… Trudy found out she was pregnant, and the child was most certainly that of her husband, Michael. The couple could not be happier. They were going to have a baby!
Alana felt like she was being ignored. Why didn’t they love her anymore? Of course, they did love her, and they hadn’t forgotten her, but they were excited. They tried to include Alana in everything, but Alana had known they were not her real parents… she felt left out. They were a real family; where did she belong? When she was nine, they even took her out of drums lessons in favor of voice lessons – again, Alana’s idea, but it didn’t matter. When she received her letter for Insula, she had not yet turned ten but she would in a couple of months; she relished the opportunity to get away from her family. They felt distanced now… They had ignored how different she was growing up, but now there was no choice. Alana never let it show, though. What was going on in her life, she would face head on, whatever it was.
Insula was a great place, her salvation from the life at home. She loved being around people her own age that were just like her! Alana had never had many friends growing up, and she relished the opportunity to make some. Like she had always thought, this was a challenge to her, and challenges should be met head on. During her the second semester of her first year, Alana choose the Pi Lamda Zeta house, because they advertised bravery, and that had always appealed to her. She didn’t find her niche until her second year, when she took Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration, and fell in love with them. In her second year, she tried out for the Quodpot team as a Keeper and made it; she was thrilled.
During her second and third years, Alana did her schoolwork and went to Quodpot practice. She was interested in the Dance Club, but never would admit it. Her grades were not great, but they were good, especially in DADA and Transfiguration. In her fourth year, though, her life would change. After years of wanting to join the Dance Club, the dark-haired girl went ahead and did it. Of course, it meant more time with Marcus Truchet, who of which she wasn’t fond. She met with Salenia White, though, also a member of the Dance Club. She became Salenia’s tutor in DADA, and the two became friends, despite the fact that they were in different dorms. That year, though, she also met Alex Walton – a sixth year in Alpha Theta Delta dorm – Marcus’ boyfriend.
Alana and Alex could not deny their chemistry, though it was clear that Alex and Marcus cared for each other deeply. Near the end of the year, though, it couldn’t be avoided. Alex and Marcus broke up, and the next month, Alana and Alex stopped fighting it. Alana recently got the results of her WAT exams, and is going to be in Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, and Potions, the latter with some work involved. She also plans on trying out for the Quidditch teams, as a Seeker, despite the fact that she’s in Dance and Quidditch. During the summer, she enrolled in Miss Erin’s Ballroom Dance Class, with Marcus and Salenia.
As it turns out, her Potions teacher, Professor Monroe, was her son. Since there were no other guys, Miss Erin asked her son to dance with her. Luckily, Professor Monroe was tall enough for her, and she’s starting to get over the awkwardness of dancing with her teacher, because they dance so well together. She’s still seeing Alex, and things are going great, though secretly, they both know that Alex doesn’t care for her they way he does for Marcus. Alana still doesn’t know that Marcus is her brother, but that’s not the only thing going on. She’s starting to seriously suspect that she’s bisexual, since she’s begun noticing her friend, Salenia…
Personality: Alana comes off as very upbeat. She’s always smiling and friendly, never letting it show that she feels neglected and left out in her home life. Alana is a gracious, welcoming person. She hates feeling left out, so she helps anyone out when she gets the chance. Inside, she desperately wants to feel accepted, yet she feels it’s not her business to let it show. She keeps everything bottled up inside, so she tends to put on a mask for the world, which few people to see her without it on. Alana is a very brave person, and despite the fact that she can be quite sensible and realistic, she loves anything that gives her an adrenaline rush, hence her love of Quidditch. This also does mean that she can be persuaded to break the rules if it means something exciting. She’s really just an adrenaline junkie rocker chick at heart, despite how she acts.
